Christmas Celebrations in Vermont :

Olde Tyme Holiday Gathering – a Lighted Parade featuring horse drawn wagons, carriages, antique tractors, and garden tractors takes place in downtown Montpelier in the third week of November to kick off the holiday season.

In the capital city of Montpelier, Free Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides will be provided for all shoppers to enjoy a leisurely trip around town for the first three weeks in the month of December.

Burlington Santa Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony

The City of Burlington, Vermont kicks off the holiday season with the Santa Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony which takes place on the Church Street Marketplace the day after Thanksgiving. Apart from this there are various events and activites taking place across the city in the month of December.

You can also meet the Santa at the Burlington Town Center Mall on Church Street every day in the month of December.

Sleigh rides at Shelburne Farms

The sleigh rides at Shelburne Farms about 10 minutes outside of Burlington are also worth taking.

In Woodstock, you can celebrate Christmas at the “Billings Farm and Museum of Woodstock” the festively-decorated farmhouse and discover the traditions of a late 19th century Vermont Christmas and enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides and other special holiday programs and activities during the holiday season.

St. Johnsbury, the shire town of Caledonia, will celebrate the holiday season with Santa’s Village and Workshop at the historic Train Depot and Welcome Center. Santa arrives to the town every Friday in a fire truck and will stay in the down till Sunday. Activities in the Santa’s Village include gift making, face-painting and photos with Santa.

St. Albans Holiday Tractor Parade

A Holiday Tractor Parade featuring Santa Claus takes place on first Friday in the month of December on Federal Street, St. Albans. Free Hot Chocolate will be served to all visitors and you can also click photos with Santa.

The town of Morristown will celebrate the annual Festival of Lights on first Saturday in the month of December. Events happening through the day including a visit by Santa Claus, horse drawn wagon rides, a cookie walk, coral music and much more!

You can enjoy an exciting train ride along a meandering river to the North Pole in Hartford VT Polar Express. Enjoy The Polar Express Story and holiday sing-alongs while sipping hot Cocoa with a yummy homemade cookie.

Santa Festival in Newport, Vermont

Enjoy the Santa Festival in Newport, Vermont on first Saturday in the month of December when the entire city will be filled with Santas.
