In Netherlands, a unique Christmas Parade is organized every year which lasts for a month, starting in mid November and lasting till mid December.
This Parade known as Valkenburg Christmas Parade takes place in Valkenburg, a central town in Valkenburg aan de Geul municipality in the southeastern Dutch province of Limburg.
Twice a week, for nearly a month, leading to Christmas, on every Wednesday and Saturday, an enchanting parade of illuminated floats with dancers in beautiful costumes takes place through the streets of the center of Valkenburg.
The atmosphere during this time is such that the city is automatically renamed to ‘Christmas City Valkenburg’.
Even Santa is part of the Christmas Parade.
Valkenburg Christmas Parade 2016 :
From 18 November 2016 to 8 December 2016 every Saturday evening at 07.30 p.m. and Wednesday evening at 07.00 p.m. a magical light parade of beautifully decorated floats and dancers in wonderful costumes will pass through the center of Valkenburg on a specially composed Christmas Song.
On the 3rd of December 2016, no Christmas Parade will be organised, instead the Christmas Parade will take place on Friday the 2nd of December 2016.
