Omaha – the largest city in the state of Nebraska is known for its Holiday Lights Festival. Omaha’s Holiday Lights Festival is a five-week showcase consisting of Christmas lights, Christmas tree lighting, fireworks display, holiday market, ice scuplture exhibit, music and entertainment.
Minden – The Christmas City of Nebraska, is famous for its holiday lights which have been strung throughout Minden’s downtown area for almost a Century. Spectacular Christmas Lights on the Kearney County Courthouse in Minden can be seen for miles and have been a source of pride for the community and state. “The Light of the World” Christmas Pageant is also held every December on the sides of The Courthouse Square.
The Lincoln Children’s Zoo will offer variety of exciting and interactive events during the holiday season.
Omaha’s botanical gardens puts on their annual display named “Holiday Poinsettia Show at Lauritzen Gardens” which includes a 20-foot high poinsettia tree, decorated Christmas trees and model train exhibit.
Festival of Trees at the Hastings Museum offers a display of more than 50 trees and wreaths decorated for the holiday season will be on display throughout the holiday season.
Brownville Christmas Tour of Lights occurs on first Saturday of December which offers continuous trolley ride from one end of Brownville to the other.
Christmas celebrations in Brownville also include annual Christmas tree lighting, holiday tour of homes, and the Brownville Christmas Concert series.
