Christmas Celebrations in Montana :
In the capital city of Helena, a day after Thanksgiving the Parade of Lights takes place. In this parade many people participate with decorated cars and floats. The parade starts at Fuller Avenue and Placer and heads toward Anchor Park for the annual lighting of the Fire Tower to kick off the holiday season.
The Billings Annual Holiday Parade and Christmas Stroll takes place in the last week of November, with the Downtown area being lit up and decorated for the holidays and visit by Santa, along with the Christmas Stroll shopping extravaganza.
During the Christmas Season, enjoy the tour to the beautifully decorated Conrad Mansion. This annual event in Kalispell, includes music, arts and crafts, champagne & hors d’oeuvres.
You can celebrate the holiday weekends in December in Virginia City in Montana at the “Splendid Feasts at the Elling House” - the historic Virginia City home decorated beautifully, inside and out. Enjoy an evening of delicious food, splendid live music, and wonderful fellowship.
You can also make some donation to Christmas for the Critters – a North Delta based Christmas charity drive for homeless animals. Throughout December, you can help by donating jars of peanut butter, honey and other items on the Christmas list to help feed the bears and wolves at the Yellowstone Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.
The ZooMontana in Billings will host the annual 12 Nights of Zoo Lights on Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday leading to Christmas and 23, 24, and 25 December. There are roughly 40 different light displays from Nativity, Victorian, and Santa scenes, to the numerous animals featured in lights.
Get in the Holiday spirit at the Annual Parade of Lights in Missoula on first Saturday of December with family friendly activities in Downtown Missoula throughout the day with arrival of Santa at Florence Building, Parade and Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting.
You can also visit Christmas Tree Farms in Montana to find wreaths, decorations, precut or choose-and-cut farms throughtout the state along with sleigh rides and holiday refreshments.
