Holidazzle - the daily Minneapolis Christmas parade and choir performances at Nicollet Mall happen throughout the holiday season. Apart from the parade this free holiday destination located in Loring Park features ice skating, music, movies, fireworks and fun for all ages.
In the capital city of St. Paul, Rice Park in downtown area is the main Christmas attraction. It is the home to downtown St. Paul’s Christmas tree and thats not all, the whole park is draped with twinkling lights. There’s a free outdoor ice skating rink, and the historic Landmark Center hosts several holiday events.
The town of Taylors Falls, holds a three day annual Lighting Festival “Taylor’s Falls Lighting Festival and Christmas Lights” on November 23, 24 and 25, with parades, reindeer, music, food and entertainment.
Gerten’s and Linder’s Garden Center Holiday Lights and Holiday Display is also worth watching.
Linder’s, a family-run garden center in St. Paul, has an annual Holiday display with around 80 Christmas trees and more than 200,000 computer controlled Holiday lights, and a Christmas gift shop. This display of Lights will be on from mid November till end of the year.
Gerten’s, in Inver Grove Heights, has Christmas entertainment for people of all age groups during the month of December.
In Saint Paul, the drive around Lake Phalen, especially the Phalen Park gets illuminated (Lake Phalen Christmas Lights) with more than a million animatronic Christmas lights every year from Thanksgiving until New Year’s Eve.
The Macy’s store on Nicollet Avenue traditionally has a lovely Holiday window display and inside the store there is free Macy’s Santaland Holiday Show, an huge animatronic holiday display that has enchanted children for almost 50 years.
Plymouth Loves Christmas and is set to transform the city centre into a winter wonderland offering visitors a truly magical festive season. The Switch-on event of Plymouth Lights on the Piazza takes place in mid November every year.
Thats not all, the owners of 16700 33rd Ave North (Fischer’s Place) in the suburb of Plymouth, love Christmas and have created one of the most legendary holiday light displays in the Twin Cities. The Fischer family’s house has thousands of lights timed to flash and dance with Christmas music, which is broadcast on a FM transmitter so only you and the other spectators get to hear it via a car radio.
