Christmas in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan officially the Republic of Uzbekistan is the only doubly landlocked country in Central Asia. It shares borders with Kazakhstan to the west and to the north, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to the east, and Afghanistan and Turkmenistan to the south. Before 1991, it was part of the Soviet Union.

The Capital and largest city of this country is Tashkent.

Christmas Celebrations in Uzbekistan :

In Uzbekistan Muslims constitute 90% of the total population of the country and nearly 5% of the population are Russian Orthodox Christians. But Uzbekistan government do allow Christians to celebrate Christmas, as they simply hate it.

Infact Uzbekistan’s government announced a ban for Ded Moroz (“Father Frost”), the Slavic equivalent of Santa Claus.
