Christmas in Thailand

Thailand officially the Kingdom of Thailand is a country located at the centre of the Indochina peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is bordered to the north by Burma and Laos, to the east by Laos and Cambodia, to the south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and to the west by the Andaman Sea and the southern extremity of Burma. Its maritime boundaries include Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand to the southeast, and Indonesia and India in the Andaman Sea to the southwest.

The Capital and largest city of this country is Bangkok.

Christmas Celebrations in Thailand :

Only 4% of the total population of Thailand are Christians. Therefore it is understood that Christmas does not have that much of important in this country. It is not even a national holiday in Thailand and is equal to any other day of the year. All the schools and office are open.

But still these hand full of Christians do celebrate he festival that their level best as the celebration of Christmas is not Prohibited in Thailand.

It is that time of year again when the Christmas decorations go up and the shopping malls start to play Christmas songs such as Jingle Bells and Santa’s Coming to Town. Large and brightly lit Christmas tree outside Central World Plaza and Father Christmas, though a rather thin version, on the Sky Train. Christmas is not a holiday here but the students from our school still celebrated it by singing, dancing and playing party games.
